Chefaa VS Yodawy

Image
Not only because the world is facing a global pandemic did I choose to compare two pharmacy delivery apps, but also because the last couple of years witnessed a leap in the pharmacies market. Chefaa  and  Yodawy are both pharmacy delivery apps serving Egypt.  Mainly, both apps allow their users to order either by searching for a specific product, or browsing displayed lists of products, or uploading a prescription and have the order delivered to their doorstep. So, speaking of similarities, the below table shows my rating of the main and most basic features in both apps:                                                             Chefaa (out of 5)             Yodawy (out of 5)      Products D...

MoneyFellows

Because of the current COVID-19 situation and its impact on financials, I chose to write my third review about an app that I believe can solve a problem for anyone of us, hoping it can help. Four things I like: Brilliant idea MoneyFellows introduced a brilliant idea of digitalizing the traditional Gameeya concept. Now, you can enter a Gameeya with some trusted strangers (tricky, ha?) and complete the cycle without looking for friends or family members to join, and without all the embarrassment of deciding who takes the money first (I know how it feels, I have been there.). I just love it! Clean UI design Most of the screens are beautiful, clean, and have enough white space. They have to be, especially with the complexity of the idea itself to some...

Hedeya Stores

Image
Hedeya Stores; this 13 year-old business is worth a decent review. It has opened a new market of elite toy stores in Cairo. Their team was the first to introduce the concept of gift registries in Egypt, although they haven’t really developed this feature much along the way. Today, I am only reviewing their mobile app. I assume that the biggest percentage of the company’s sales don't come from the app, because they have other very strong channels; basically the physical stores and the website (that appears to be a bit more updated than the app). But why am I reviewing the mobile app in specific? Because I think it is the easiest way to reach out to their main customer base (moms, apparently) through their mobile phones. Four things I like:     1. Categorization If you are an expecting parent, or you are a friend of an expecting parent who is willing to buy them a gift, the detailed categories in the app will definitely help you know what you need for each and every sta...

Booming Breadfast

Image
Not so long ago, Cairo residents got introduced to a simple bakery app with the creative name "Breadfast". The team proved themselves and succeeded to reach out to thousands of users who became loyal customers in a -relatively- short period of time. Along the way, the company (represented in the app), launched lots of new services thus features. And since I have been one of their first users, I would like to begin my blog posts with something to write about Breadfast.    I don't want to start boring, so I'll just pick few points to write down about Breadfast pros and cons, from a user perspective. Five things I like: Neat design The key is always simplicity. This app (especially when it first few versions) is a living proof. The plain white background, the not so crowded -yet creative- logo, the limited color palette, the sans-serif fonts are among the factors that make the experience so easy and eye-comforting. Free delivery option When I first tr...
